Kontrapunkt

Melodi bestående av to eller flere selvstendige og samtidige melodilinjer, som harmonerer både vertikalt (samklang) og lineært (melodiføring).

Kanon

Den strengeste form for kontrapunkt. En flerstemmig sats der eksakt samme melodi imiteres (gjentas) tidsforskjøvet parallelt med hovedmelodien. Imitasjonen kan være på samme eller forskjellig tonetrinn. F.eks. brukes ofte sangene, "Fader Jakob" og "Ro, ro, ro din båt" som kanonlek.

Fuge

En komplisert komposisjonsform som kan sammenlignes med en kanon, fra barokken. Komposisjonen er laget for to eller flere stemmer, der et tema gjentas, imiteres og plasseres etter nærmest matematiske prinsipper. En av de store mestere innen fugeformen er J.S. Bach.

17 000 for fire låter

Svensk fildeler må punge ut, da det tydeligvis er ekstra dyrt å laste ned i Sverige.

Dommen mot den mannen som hadde delt ut fire låter ulovlig via Direct Connect (DC++) er nå stadfestet. Han må ut med 20 000 svenske kroner (om lag 17 000 norske).Formnærmede, som i dette tilfelle er organisasjonen Antipiratbyrån, lover flere søksmål og hardere lut framover.

Truslene kan likevel virke tomme, for dommen sier også at forhold som dette helst straffes med bøter. Det betyr at svensk politi i kjølvannet av dommen vil ha vanskeligere for kreve av bredbåndsleverandøren å få se navnet bak en IP-adresse plate- eller filmbransjen mener viser unormalt høy aktivitet.

The 3rd And The Mortal

Often described simply as “unclassifiable”, Norway's THE 3RD AND THE MORTAL operated with Progressive Doom waters for their first releases but would soon introduce more cultured Folk influences, becoming a clear exponent of Nordic Prog Metal. Latter recordings would be predominantly acoustic in nature shedding the greater degree of formative Metal leanings.

THE 3RD AND THE MORTAL was founded in 1993 by vocalist Kari Rueslatten. Following the 1994 “Tears Laid In Earth” album Rueslatten departed for a solo career. The singer would also front the project STORM alongside Fenriz of DARKTHRONE and Satyr from SATYRICON for the “Nordavind” album. Since going solo, Rueslatten has enjoyed measurable commercial success.

Ruselatten was replaced by in THE 3RD AND THE MORTAL by Anne-Marie Edvardsen who debuted on the 1995 mini album offering “Nightswan”. Guitarist Trond Engrum and drummer Rune Hoemsnes busied themselves with a Hard Rock side project dubbed KANE. In May of 1999 bassist Bernt Rundberget would also make his exit to concentrate on studies. His position was duly filled by Eirik of HEDGE HOG as THE 3RD AND THE MORTAL geared up for a 2002 album 'Memoirs'. Throughout September and October of 2002 the band toured Germany on a package billing in alliance with THE LOVELESS, AUTUMNBLAZE and EWIGHEIM.
